Private skin quality consultation with an AHPRA-registered nurse in Melbourne's inner east
A skin quality consultation at our Surrey Hills clinic is a private appointment with our AHPRA-registered nurse with over 23 years of clinical experience. The consultation is designed for patients who are concerned about their skin's hydration, texture, luminosity, or overall condition, and want to understand what treatment options are available to improve skin quality from within.
During your consultation, your practitioner will conduct a thorough assessment of your skin condition, discuss the concerns you would like to address, and outline the injectable and non-injectable treatment options available to you. All treatment options, including any prescription medicines, potential side effects, contraindications, and realistic expectations, are explained in full. No treatment is performed without your full informed consent.
The goal of the consultation is to give you an accurate, honest understanding of what is achievable for your skin type and concerns before any decisions are made. Results may vary between individuals.
A skin quality consultation can address a range of concerns related to the condition and appearance of the skin. Your practitioner will assess your specific skin concerns and outline which treatment options are appropriate for you. Common concerns that can be discussed include:
Skin dehydration and dullness: Skin that appears flat, lifeless, or lacks the radiance it once had, despite a consistent skincare routine. Your practitioner will assess your skin condition and discuss what treatment options may be appropriate to address hydration from within.
Fine lines and crepey texture: Fine, superficial lines on the cheeks, under the eyes, around the mouth, or on the neck that affect skin texture and smoothness. Your practitioner will assess the nature of these lines and discuss the options available to address them.
Early skin laxity: Skin that is beginning to lose its firmness and elasticity. Your practitioner will assess the degree of laxity and discuss what treatment approaches may help improve skin firmness.
Skin quality maintenance: Patients who are satisfied with their facial volume and expression but want to maintain their skin's health and quality over time. Your practitioner will discuss what a skin maintenance programme might look like for your skin type and age.
Neck and décolletage concerns: Skin quality concerns affecting the neck or chest area. Your practitioner will assess these areas and discuss what options are available.
A skin quality consultation covers both injectable and non-injectable approaches to improving skin condition. Your practitioner will recommend the most appropriate option for your skin based on her clinical assessment. Options that may be discussed at consultation include injectable skin quality treatments, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) treatments using the patient's own growth factors, microneedling and collagen induction therapy, and combinations of these approaches.
PRP and PRF treatments involve drawing a small amount of the patient's own blood, processing it to concentrate the growth factors, and reinjecting it into the skin. Because no foreign substances are used, these treatments are well-tolerated and appropriate for a wide range of patients. Microneedling can be performed alone or in combination with PRP for an enhanced effect on skin texture and collagen production.
All injectable skin quality treatments involving prescription-only medicines are discussed privately during your consultation in line with TGA advertising requirements. Your practitioner will not recommend a treatment that is not appropriate for your skin condition and goals.
Choosing the right practitioner for a skin quality consultation matters as much as it does for any injectable treatment. An experienced practitioner with a thorough understanding of skin physiology will give you an honest assessment of your skin, explain the available options accurately, and recommend the approach most likely to deliver meaningful improvement for your specific concerns.
